About Us

We understand how deeply distressing the loss of a loved one can be. At Walker’s Funeral Service, we bring many years of experience as independent funeral directors, committed to providing professional, compassionate funeral care tailored to every family we support. Every life is unique, and every farewell should reflect that individuality. We arrange traditional funerals, simple services and fully bespoke celebrations of life, whether religious or non-religious, always guided by your wishes.

Our team is available 24 hours a day, offering calm guidance and practical advice whenever it is needed. Funeral arrangements can be made at our funeral homes in St Helens, Wigan and Skelmersdale during normal office hours from 9.00am to 5.00pm, or outside these times by appointment. Many families prefer the privacy and comfort of their own home, and we are always happy to visit you to discuss arrangements in a way that feels right for you.

We provide funeral services across Sutton, St Helens, Newton-le-Willows, Warrington, Wigan and Skelmersdale, supporting families from the first phone call through to the day of the funeral and beyond. Our role as your local funeral director is not simply to organise a service, but to offer reassurance, clarity and steady support at every stage.

Walker’s is led by Richard Walker, Director and Funeral Director, supported by a dedicated and compassionate team: Jennifer Walker, Office Manager; Julie Burrows, Funeral Home Manager; Matthew Buller, Funeral Director; Shenley Atherton, Funeral Operative; and Alan Jacks, Funeral Operative. Together, they work with quiet professionalism, ensuring every detail is handled with dignity and respect.

Our offices are open Monday to Friday from 9.00am until 5.00pm. At weekends we are available from 9.00am until 12.00pm by appointment. Outside these hours, our 24-hour contact line remains available for families who need immediate assistance.
