Where do I start!!! This is the 3rd family funeral we have held with you and we wouldn't ever go to anybody else. Richard, Shenley, Julie...I think I can speak for all of my family when I say your service, care, compassion, respect, professionalism and everything else in-between goes above and beyond! Thank you for giving our loved ones the best send offs possible. You made such difficult days that bit easier to try and deal with. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I would like to thank Richard and all of his team for the professional and compassionate way in which they arranged my husband Steve cunnington's funeral on the 29th of April. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their help was invaluable to me at a very distraught time. The prices are very reasonable and didn't try to sell me any extras. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Richard, Julie and his team for the professional, compassionate and excellent service you provided to us for my husband's Raymond's funeral on 2nd May 2024. Thank you for taking the time to come out of your way to meet with us out of hours, for helping us make the right decisions at a difficult time and for guiding us through the day. Nothing was too much trouble. The service I personally received when visiting Raymond in the Chapel of rest was extremely comforting. We knew we had chosen the right place in the end and would be happy to recommend your services to others .
Walker’s Funeral Services were excellent, they were compassionate, caring , professional and very competitive on costs. Richard and his team made us feel that we mattered and so did our precious Mum. Nothing was too much trouble they were always prepared to go above and beyond . This is a Company that are rare to find a Company that cares and really wants to do the right thing and was always trying to genuinely advise as opposed to trying to “sell “ to us. It was clear they were an independent who still operate on traditional values. We would absolutely not hesitate to recommend Walker’s to anybody who wants a Company that will make what is a very difficult situation as smooth as they possibly can. Walkers provided us with a level of personal service that could only in my opinion be provided by a small independent company. Richard Walker takes great care of you all the way through, and is only ever a phone call away. Prices are very competitive indeed much cheaper than the bigger companies. I thoroughly recommend Walkers and suggest anyone facing a bereavement, just picks up the phone & speaks to Richard. Great service thanks 👍
“Following the recent passing of our Mum, we were unsure which funeral director to contact. Initially we contacted one of the more well-known larger companies, however, following the initial discussions, we felt there was a lack of empathy and it seemed far too business-like and matter of fact. We therefore decided to look elsewhere. We came across Walker’s family funeral directors and decided to give them a ring. From the outset and first conversation, Richard was caring, compassionate and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and he had a wonderful way of easing what is probably the most difficult time in anybody’s life. Although cost was never an issue, it has to be said that Walker’s were considerably cheaper than the aforementioned. More importantly, the personal service received was priceless. The funeral home is set out beautifully. The chapel of rest is calming with a feeling of serenity. Richard ensured that everything was organised in good time and went above and beyond what we expected of him. His care and compassion is outstanding and we feel he has given us a wonderful opportunity to say goodbye to our Mum. Richard has made a lasting impression on our family and we are truly grateful.”
“I would 110% recommend this funeral home from the moment I made contact with Richard I felt an instant connection that he would do an awesome job for my mum. He came to visit to arrange what we wanted and again he was awesome he took a huge weight off my entire family and I’m truly thankful for this , my mum passed away unexpectedly and I was the one who found her , the way Richard works is truly remarkable and trust me it’s one in a million that you will find someone who truly cares. Richard appointed Tony who lead the service and was the most truly incredible service for my dearly departed mum who had an undiagnosed breathing problem for 15+ years , I went to visit her at the chapel of rest and yet again Richard did an incredible job she looked so good and at peace this gave me the faith and love and support for this funeral home. I cannot recommend this funeral home/services enough , all my family and friends who attended commented how beautiful and dignified and respectful the entire service was and the overall demeanour was perfect, I know for sure my mum would have been happy if she could have been there to see her day. Richard looked after our 18 year old sons recent burial after his sudden death, he without exception, delivers a service which is borne from sheer honesty and commitment to ensure every step is taken care of to your exact requirements whilst ensuring the utmost of integrity. Having encountered the most horrific shock and overwhelming loss, we could possibly ever encounter Richard was a tower of strength and provided help, advice and comfort to each and everyone of us. Very rare do you meet people who has the many qualities Richard displays!Having attended one other funeral directors prior, to visiting Richard, we can honestly say even the building, surroundings and internal decor is by far superior in terms of feeling tranquil, calming and the perfect place for your loved one to rest in peace. Whilst, cost was not a thought, surprisingly Richards service was over £1500 cheaper!!.
